On February 24, 2023 /Friday/ at 11.00 a.m. in the Foyer Art Library of the Ivan Vazov National Library will be performed the first concert of this year's program "Musical Matinee in the Library". The performer is the Guitar Quintet "Plovdiv", including musicians from the National School of Music and Dance "Dobrin Petkov" and the Academy of Music Dance and Fine Arts "Prof. Assen Diamandiev, Plovdiv. Milena Maneva-Valcheva, Kalin Georgiev, Ioana Tikholova, Stella Miteva-Dinkova and Kostadin Dinkov are members of the formation. The ensemble consists of five classical guitars, and in certain works one of the parts is played by an acoustic bass guitar.
The sound of the quintet is original and timbral, with each performer taking turns as soloist or accompanist. He has given a number of performances, including competitions, in Plovdiv, Kyustendil, Varna...
The repertoire is stylistically wide-ranging with an emphasis on contemporary composers.
