Shake That Hill 2023
Shake That Hill 2023
from September 1 to 3
Youth Hill, Plovdiv
The event builds on its usual format, which used to be 3 stages with over 40 hours of music, dance and freestyle battle with 100 artists and between 3 and 4 thousand audience members per edition over the years, by increasing the stage areas - the audience will now have 4 separate spaces, the participants increase and now number over 150 people, the handmade format doubles, with over 60 participants planned.
Traditionally, September is the month with the most intense cultural programme in the town under the hills. This year, Shake That Hill once again kicks off this extravaganza of emotions and festival mood in the period 1 - 3 September.
In the ninth edition of the festival, the audience will as usual enjoy the favourite Bulgarian artists who will again perform on the various stages at the foot of Youth Hill. The festival presents pop, electronic, jazz and swing, RnB and DJ stages in conceptually distinct festival zones. This year's edition will feature Bobo & the Gang, Trombobby & C-mo, Downshift Collective and many more, while organisers will present a Youth Stage for debuting youth bands. As a reminder, the festival's stage annually provides a platform for artists who started their creative careers at Shake that Hill. On the Vibrant Stage, this year there will be an evening dedicated to ladies in electronic music, and on the stage located in the Plovdiv Stage Park event area, the audience will enjoy jazz, swing and funk and pop. Breakdance culture once again has its place at Street Culture Camp, where the traditionally themed breakdance balls will take place, attracting mashers from all over the country. The Kids Zone will offer a programme packed with theatre performances and workshops, the 90s Games, mass swinging, a playground, water and colour 'war', and creative workshops. On the bazaar lane, a 'Shake Market' will be held, featuring a host of handmade artists, and on the lawn at the bottom of the hill you will once again find your favourite travelling bars and kitchens on wheels.
Once again, the event is part of OF Plovdiv's 2019 Heritage Programme and is an ambassador for a number of social campaigns. The festival is part of the "I want to be useful. Recycle me!" and thanks to this partnership the festival has the facilities for separate waste collection. Here you can also find the "Caps for the Future" point, and in the festival area your pets on a leash are welcome, for which there will be separate water corners. Organisers are urging the public to cycle or walk to the festival area, and you can keep an eye on the event website for detailed and up-to-date information on the programme for the three festival days.
