On March 8, the film "Ekaterina - the woman who was the only man", a debut production by Boyana Topchijska with screenwriter - Yuri Dachev, and cinematographer - Georgi Grozdev, will be screened at 6:00 p.m. at the House of Dr. Stoyan Chomakov (Zlatyu Boyadzhiev Permanent Exhibition). Special guest will be the film's producer Pavel Pavlov, who will meet with Plovdiv residents after the screening.
"Ekaterina - The Woman Who Was the Only Man" (90 minutes) is a biographical story about the life of Ekaterina Karavelova, whose structure is suggested by her characteristic keeping of a diary on a calendar. A "personal time" projected on dramatic decades of our history /1860-1947/, revealing the remarkable stoicism and civil intransigence of the remarkable Bulgarian woman. Qualities proving the definition of foreign correspondents during the Serbo-Bulgarian War: "Of all the remaining population of Sofia, Mrs. Karavelova was the only man."
