Stroke and Verse is a collection of 12 animated films based on contemporary Bulgarian poems and realized by various visual artists. The idea of the project is to unite poetry and animation in one by creating a new screen form - animated poetry.
Stroke and Verse is based on an idea by Vesela Dancheva, and the films were produced between 2015 and 2020 with the producer Kompot Collective and the financial support of the National Film Centre. So far, the films have enjoyed national and international success at film festivals and cinema forums and have won numerous awards. We have limited screenings and exhibitions in Sofia and Plovdiv with the first part of the project, which enjoyed great audience interest.
