2019 Exhibition Hall

A week before his birthday, the great Bulgarian artist Valchan Petrov invites his admirers to a large-scale exhibition at the 2019 Exhibition Hall.
The starting time is 18:00.
There is hardly a fan of fine art in our country in whose mind the name of Valchan Petrov does not evoke the image of his images and subjects, interweaving in amazing harmony pagan and Christian symbols, European antiquity and world pantheistic beliefs.
"Vulchan Petrov is inseparable from Plovdiv," says art historian and thracologist prof. Ivan Marazov. According to his definition, over the years the artist has tried "to embrace and recreate the cosmos as an artistic image". His works are worthy of a mythology. The artist's search over the years has led to "inheritance of basic codes of cultures of our lands and of the world. An image of Bulgaria has crystallized, which forms the basis of a modern Bulgarian consciousness".
The exhibition can be viewed until 30 May.
