The FIRST® LEGO® League World Festival is the largest LEGO robotics festival held in 110 countries worldwide with millions of participants. For the first time, it will have its own edition in Bulgaria - on July 8, 2023 in Kolodrum from 10:00. The top 24 teams of students from across the country will take part. See all 24 teams here.

The best prepared 24 teams with students from 10 to 16 years, selected from 80 teams from 50 schools from all over the country, will compete in a competition with LEGO robots, performing missions in the city under the hills. For several months, under the guidance of their mentors, they have been preparing diligently for the competition. An expert jury will have the final say on who will qualify for the finals in Plovdiv. The theme this year is "Superpowers" - with a focus on renewable and traditional energy sources, and the missions of the competition are related to it.

A key objective of the FIRST® LEGO® League format is to encourage curiosity and interest in robotics among children and young people and to effectively apply the knowledge and skills they acquire while working with robots in real life. In addition, the festival seeks to involve parents as an important factor in the development of their children. Last but not least, the organisation of the forum aims to put Bulgaria on the map of the global FIRST® LEGO® League community.

The doors open at 10 am and the official opening is at 12 pm with a concert by the Presto Percussion Formation. After the start of the event, the stage will be open for robot battles to perform missions, and judges will monitor compliance with the rules before announcing the names of the final winners.
Throughout the day, right from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the public will be able to see FLL teams presenting their research technology projects, as well as browse the exhibitions, join the fan zones, workshops and demonstrations from the program.

Joining the event in Plovdiv is the Teen Boom Fest youth culture festival. It will bring the seven most popular teen influencers. Visitors will be able to see them live, get autographs and take pictures with the teen stars in the fan meet and greet area. 

The Bulgarian Lego Collectors Club will be presenting a whole series of modular buildings, Ideas series fan models, unique personal collections from tecnic, bionical. Everyone will have the opportunity to try controlling the magnificent trains from the grey era of 12-volt motors sold between 1980-1990. Fans of the constructors will be able to visit a specially built Lego shop. 

The festival will also provide an opportunity for industrial innovation. The Professional Association of Robotics and Automation presents collaborative robots, automation and projects by FESTO and Schneider. 
A bus will transport those wishing to visit the event every round hour, from 11am to 5pm. The starting stop is in front of the Hotel Trimontium.
