Plovdiv Municipality invites Plovdiv citizens and guests to celebrate together one of the holiest Bulgarian holidays - May 24 - the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and of the Slavonic alphabet.

The award ceremony of the Plovdiv Award for outstanding achievements in the field of culture and development of cultural life in Plovdiv in the past year 2022.

Plovdiv Prizes are awarded one in each of the following 12 categories.

Winners receive a statuette, a diploma and a cash prize

In 2020, on the initiative of Mayor Zdravko Dimitrov, a new category was added to the Plovdiv Prize Statute - the Plovdiv Special Prize, which is awarded for outstanding achievements and overall contribution to the culture of the city of Plovdiv.

The Plovdiv Special Award will be determined by the Mayor of Plovdiv.

9.35 a.m., 11 May Square - Opening of the celebration with the anthem of the Republic of Bulgaria;

9.40 a.m.,Celebratory speech by Iva Ichevska - a student of the 11th grade of Plovdiv Language High School;

9.45 a.m., Celebratory prayer, celebrated by His Eminence Metropolitan Nikolay of Plovdiv;

10.00a.m., The host announces the laying of wreaths and flowers at the monument of the Slavonic Equal Apostles;

10.15 a.m., Start of the procession to Central Square.
