Austrian Music Weeks: concert of the Yavus Quartet
Within the framework of this year's edition of the festival "Austrian Music Weeks", organized by the Austrian Embassy in Sofia and the Vienna Club Association, on 31 May at 7 pm will be a concert by the Yavus Quartet from Austria. The concert, which is part of the Cultural Calendar of the Municipality of Plovdiv, will take place in the Small Basilica, where concerts are traditionally presented during the festival. The event is free of charge.
The Yavus Quartet is a string quartet from Salzburg featuring Marie-Therese Schwöllinger and Alexandra Moser on violin, Anuschka Cidlinski on viola and Oskar Hagen on cello.
The four young musicians have played together in various formations for years and in 2016 founded the quartet in its current line-up. The quartet is included in the New Austrian Sound of Music (NASOM) programme for young musicians of the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs for the period 2023/24.
Marie-Therese Schwöllinger
Marie-Thérèse Schwöllinger started performing at the age of 4 and continued her musical education with Lukas Hagen at the Mozarteum Salzburg and Stefan Pickard at the Hans Eisler University in Berlin, and is currently studying with Tobias Feldmann at the University of Würzburg and Peter Schumacher at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
Alexandra Moser
Alexandra Moser received her first violin lessons of her own accord at the age of 4. Soon after, she began her musical education at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg in the preparatory class of Prof. Luke Hagen. International solo performances with orchestras such as Philharmonie Salzburg and Chamber Youth Orchestra Salzburg.
Anushka Cidlinski
Born in Germany, Anushka Cidlinski studied with Thomas Riebl at the Mozarteum Salzburg and Nobuko Imai in Amsterdam. She received her musical impulses from Tabea Zimmermann and Harriolf Schlichtig. Numerous appearances as a chamber musician. Anushka Cidlinski is a scholarship holder of the Villa Musica Academy of Chamber Music.
Oskar Hagen
Oskar Hagen was born in Salzburg, studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Giovanni Njoki, then in 2017 continued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. In 2015 and 2016 he was a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, and in 2017 and 2019 he participated in the Summer Academy of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
