The Day of Botev and those who died for the freedom of Bulgaria
The Day of Botev and of those who died for the freedom and independence of Bulgaria - June 2 - will be commemorated in Plovdiv with a military ritual, worship, solemn speech and laying of wreaths and flowers. This year marks the 147th anniversary of the feat of Hristo Botev and his detachment.
The ceremony will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 11.30 a.m. in front of the monument to Hristo Botev in the Tsar Simeon's Garden.
Krum Filippov - poet, writer, theater and film director, winner of the Plovdiv Award for outstanding achievements in the field of culture in the past year 2022 in the section "Fiction and Humanities" for the poetry collection "Letters to my son", publishing house Janet 45. The presenter will be the actor from the Plovdiv Drama Theatre - Ivaylo Hristov.
The ceremony will be attended by the Military Brass Band, representative units of the Plovdiv Garrison - the Honorary Company and Wreath Bearers, the "Patriotism" Committee and the "Vasil Levski" Committee, politicians, public figures, students, citizens and media.
