CAUSE „In Memory of Yanka Kyurkchieva“

A series of memorial donation events (monumental/decorative and memorial site). This photo exhibition is the first one of these!
Next year, in 2024, we will celebrate the 95th Anniversary of the birth of Mrs. Yanka Kyurkchieva, one of the brightest lights in Bulgarian culture, education and arts, and the most daring visionary of photography in Bulgaria. The same year also marks the 25th Anniversary of the Academy of Photography Bulgaria. The legacy that Mrs. Kyurkchieva left us with the National Association Academy of Photography Bulgaria deserves recognition and appreciation of her memory, and with it a deep bow to her life!
That is why we are launching campaigns and actions on the eve of these 2 anniversaries to win more time to achieve the big goal. Funds from these campaigns and actions will be billed in a separate charity fund in the account of the Association, allocated only for this Cause. In 2028, we will commemorate 20 years since Yanka left us. With the amount we collect by the end of 2028, we will do our best, adhering to the legal regulations of the Republic of Bulgaria, for the design, construction and legalization of such site. 2029 is the year of the 100th Anniversary of Mrs. Kyurkchieva‘s birth. The great goal of the Cause is to honour Mrs. Yanka Kyurkchieva with this memorial sign in 2029 (memorial plaque or monument in an urban environment) and to officially unveil it for her 100th Anniversary. With this event, we will pay tribute to her and leave for the future the most venerable acknowledgement of her personality, deeds, life path and mission!
