Guitar Festival "Generations" is organized by the Association "Guitar-Plovdiv", chaired by Prof. Dr. Stella Miteva-Dinkova. It was created by the idea of the Plovdiv guitarist and teacher Hari Nigohosyan in 2015, as part of the program of the festival "Art Belozem", which is held in the village of Belozem and brings together musicians and artists on one stage. Two years later "Generations" found a new home - the National Chitalishte "Ivan Vazov-1904", Plovdiv. From 2017 to 2021, the Renaissance House, with its incredible atmosphere, hosts over 200 Plovdiv guitarists - students, teachers, chamber ensembles and guitar ensembles. From 2022, the festival becomes a national event and talented children and young people from all over the country take part.

The current edition of the "Generations" Guitar Festival is part of the Cultural Calendar of Plovdiv Municipality. It presents to the Plovdiv public 4 events:

Festival Stage with over 40 participants from Plovdiv, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Burgas and Pazardzhik. It will be held on 17 June from 10.00 to 14.00 at the National School of Music and Dance "Dobrin Petkov", Plovdiv. Instrumentalists playing classical, electric and acoustic guitars, aged between 7 and 20 years, will be evaluated by three professional juries chaired by Prof. Dr. Stella Miteva-Dinkova, Dr. Milena Maneva-Valcheva and Prof. Dr. Veselin Koychev.

On 18 June, the festival programme includes educational activities. From 11.00 a.m. at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts "Prof. Assen Diamandiev" At 11.00 am at the "Asen Diamandiev" Diana Racheva will introduce the guitar to the youngest ones in the "Guitar Studio", and in the "Creative Laboratory for Virtuosi", led by Ioana Tiholova, young guitarists will receive valuable tips for their successful instrumental development.

On the same day, at 14.30 in the "Ivan Spasov" Hall of the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts "Prof. Assen Diamandiev", a lecture-workshop will be held with Nikolay Peev - a contemporary Bulgarian guitarist and composer, who will talk about his creative path and present his latest works.

Guitar Festival "Generations" will end on 19 June at 15.00 with an Educational Concert "Guitar". The featured Festival participants will perform for at-risk children from the Olga Skobeleva Social Services Complex, introducing the guitar to their peers and getting them involved in the arts.

The event is realized with the financial support of Plovdiv Municipality and in partnership with: National School of Music and Dance "Dobrin Petkov", Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts "Prof. Assen Diamandiev" and Olga Skobeleva Social Services Complex. All events in the programme are free admission.
