On June 28, at 8.30 pm, we invite you to a special edition of "Short Cinema in Fargo" with the support of the publishing house "Janet-45". As part of the Plovdiv Reads program we will see the new documentary about the poet Dimana Yordanova "If there was a film about me..." by director. Plamen Nikolov, as well as another of his films - "TUI TO", dedicated to one of the greatest masters of plastic art in Bulgaria. The project is supported by Plovdiv Municipality and is part of the Cultural Calendar of the city. Entrance is free!

IF THERE WAS A FILM ABOUT ME

"If There Was a Film About Me" offers a very interesting look at Dimana and the poems, with her being both the main character and a side commentator. For 20-25 minutes she reflects on what should be in a film about her. She talks about herself in the third person and with detachment as someone else she knows well. This narrative is punctuated by her poems, which she reads herself. The filmmakers have tried to capture her different faces and through the different visions when she narrates and when she reads, through the lighting, the play of colors, the extra shots. The suggestion is as if she is directing herself live, and at the end she also enters the role of a spectator watching the finished film."

TUI TO

The film reveals the innermost urges to create of some of the greatest masters of plastic art in Bulgaria - the sculptors Acad. prof. Velichko Minekov and acad. prof. Krum Damyanov. They are the authors of some of the most popular monumental sculptures in Bulgaria. The film juxtaposes the world view of the great masters with two young artists who are following in their footsteps. The film asks profound questions such as "How does the mysterious creative process work?" and "What is the meaning of art?", and the answers are painfully honest, especially from the artists of the young generation - the sculptors Rumen Panayotov and Momchil Nikolov.
