Plovdiv Municipality and Plovdiv 2019 Foundation invite Plovdiv citizens and guests to a unique event for Bulgaria in the open air on the Aqueduct on Bunardzhika Hill - Jazz candle concerts with Bobby Valchev and Big Band Plovdiv, conducted by Nikolay Geshev.

On 14 July 2023, Friday, at 21:00 the audience will enjoy exciting and passionate jazz, expressed through the warm timbre of Bobby Valchev and his breathtaking improvisations and solos on piano and trumpet. He will be complemented by the virtuosos of Big Band Plovdiv, one of the emblems of the city, founded in 2000, led by Nikolay Geshev, who will fill the space with the magic of jazz.

The Jazz candle concerts is a project containing jazz standards with the most brilliant big band arrangements ever created for such an orchestra. Songs performed by swing's greatest singers - Paul Anka, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Sammy Davis and Michael Bublé - will be heard live in an unconventional and unique setting. Cry me a river, That's life, Fly me to the Moon, I've got you under my skin, All of me, Me and Mrs. Jones, My Way, New York New York, Feeling good and Fever are just some of the titles of the hits included in the concert programme. Hits that need no introduction whatsoever.

Jazz candle concerts with Bobby Valchev and Big Band Plovdiv is free admission and is held with the financial support of Plovdiv Municipality and the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation.
