Chamber Scene Plovdiv presents a concert of Life Aquatic on July 27, Thursday at 7 pm in the First Studio of Radio Plovdiv. The Viennese jazz quartet Life Aquatic moves with transparent transitions between composition and spontaneity. The quartet's music varies between different genres and musical forms - interweaving contemporary jazz, free improvisation and chamber music, influences from indie rock and the alternative scene, with echoes of the melodics of Central and Eastern Europe. Life Aquatic consisting of : Nikolaus Holler- sax, Raphael Keffer - guitar, Viktoria Kirilova - bass, Matti Felber - drums, have played prestigious venues all over Austria and have recorded for Austrian Radio.

Nikolaus Holler is an Austrian multi-instrumentalist and contemporary composer. He is a graduate of Kunstuniversität Graz and MUK, Vienna. He has played on prestigious stages all over Austria (Porgy and Bess, Orpheum, Concert Hall of the "Wiener Sängerknaben", Stockwerk Jazz, ZWE, Jazzwerkstatt, Schauspielhaus, Jazzfestival Saalfelden, ORF Radiokulturhaus) as well as in countries such as Israel, Ethiopia, Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Brazil, Luxembourg and Turkey.

Raphael Keffer is an Austrian guitarist and composer. He studied at the State Conservatory of Carinthia Klagenfurt, HfMT Cologne, HfMT Hamburg and graduated with a Master of Arts degree from MUK with honors. Raphael is the winner of the Gironcoli Prize. In 2021 he released his debut album "Retrospection" on the Austrian label ATS Records. Since 2021 Rafael has been part of the guitar faculty at the Vienna Institute of Music.

Victoria Kirilova is a Bulgarian bassist and composer living in Vienna. Her music is a mixture of different influences, from contemporary jazz and chamber music to the poetry and rhythms of Bulgarian folklore. A graduate of the Conservatories of Milan and Vienna, Victoria has won the Leviev and ARGE Jazz Scholarships, the Fidelio Competition and the Premio delle Arti. She has performed at international festivals such as Bergamo Jazz, Firenze Jazz Festival, Lucca Jazz, Jazz al Parque (Bogotá), Medejazz (Medellin), Kultursommer (Vienna), Novara Jazz, A to Jazz Festival (Sofia). victoriakirilova.com

Matti Felber was born into a musical family in Graz. In 2017 she graduated from the Graz Conservatory with a distinction. She later moved to Vienna to study at the University of Music and Art in Vienna with Mario Gonzi. Today he plays in countless bands, projects, ensembles and works as a session musician and sideman. His musical language ranges from rock, classical to jazz and electronica.

The concerts of the Chamber Stage Plovdiv platform are supported by the Municipality of Plovdiv and are part of the city's cultural calendar for 2023.
