Thracian Mysteries Festival

For the third consecutive year, the Thracian Mysteries Festival will be held at iconic sites of ancient history in our lands, where the ruins will come alive with the two performances - "Mystery of the Thracian Heros" and "Thracian Mystery Drama" and the live communication and co-experience with the audience of the different festival formats - processions, exhibitions, creative workshops, lectures, interactive encounters with antiquity and the modern interpretation of the Thracian heritage. 

The festival program includes:
- Interactive performances "Mystery of Thracian Heros" and "Thracian Mystery Drama" - 30.09.2023, 21:00 at the Ancient Theatre Plovdiv
- Exhibition "Thracian Mysteries" - for another year the digital artist Dilyana Angelova will present her renewed collection of impressive paintings, provoking with their deep Orphic symbolism. 30.09.2023, 14:30 at the Ancient Theatre Plovdiv
- Lectures on "Ancient Thracian culture, language and civilization and the application of the cultural heritage of the Thracians in our time". The lecturers will be representatives of the Institute of T-Science, Rodov Zavet Foundation and Orfica Academy Association. 30.09.2023, 16:00 at the Ancient Roman Stadium, Plovdiv
- After the lecture, at 5:30 p.m., begins the Festival procession towards the Ancient Theatre Plovdiv.
- Thracian workshops, 30.09.2023, 18:00 at the Ancient Roman Theatre Plovdiv - unique workshops and seminars on Thracian life and culture introduce participants to the Thracians' understanding of their way of life, immersing them in a unique ancient atmosphere of mysticism and the forces encoded in the preparation of ritual food, clothing and ritual objects accompanying the processions at each stage of the sacred holiday cycle: 
▪ The mystery of Bulgarian ritual bread - the participants in this workshop will experience the mystery and the deep "messages" encoded by our ancestors the Thracians in the preparation of bread. A tradition that lives on today and has persisted over the centuries in the folklore and domestic environment of the Bulgarian blessed families.
▪ The mystery of the Thracian garment - the participants in this workshop will learn about the sacred symbolism and purpose of the garment as a message that the invisible forces that determine our lives "read". They will learn about the Word that the ancient Thracians put into their clothing and will have the opportunity to "change into the clothes" of the ancient Thracians, through prepared replicas of garments, such as those from images on authentic artifacts. 
▪ The Mystery of the Votive Clay Tiles - Participants in this workshop will touch and learn about Thracian votive tablets with sacred texts invoking blessing and protection found in ancient archaeological finds in our lands from this era. They will learn about the decipherment of sacred messages, the Thracian attitude to the written word and will be able to inscribe a personal votive tablet with Orphic invocation formulas in sacred Thracian script.
