Butterfly Festival
During the entire period of the "Festival of Butterflies" (13-17.09.2023) all visitors up to 7 years of age will receive free admission for individual visits to the museum exhibition!
13.09.2023 /Wednesday/
10:30am - 11:00am. Opening of the "Festival of Butterflies" with a dance performance by the youth dance group "Terpsichore" and official guests.
13:00 - 14:00 - Presentation* about the life of butterflies on the theme: "In the world of butterflies". Very interesting and educational information about the overall life of butterflies will be presented. It is suitable for children from 1st to 7th grade.
From 11:30 am to 1:30 pm - Face painting for children - A professional animator will paint the faces of willing festival participants with special paints that are completely harmless.
From 11:30am to 4:30pm - Four workshops will be held throughout the day:
1) Workshop One - Making Face Masks - Children will have the opportunity to make their own masks with patterns of multi-colored butterflies;
2) Second workshop - "In the world of butterflies" - drawing and colouring models of different types of butterflies;
3) Third workshop - "Body parts" - a game through which children will learn more about the structure of butterflies;
4) Fourth workshop - "Life Cycle"- a game to learn more about the different stages of insect development.
14.09.2023 /Thursday/
From 10:00 to 16:00.
Four workshops throughout the day:
1) First workshop - Making face masks - children will have the opportunity to make their own masks with patterns of colourful butterflies;
2) Second workshop - "In the world of butterflies" - drawing and colouring models of different types of butterflies;
3) Third workshop - "Metamorphosis"- a game to improve and develop knowledge of the process of "complete metamorphosis" in invertebrates. Participants will have to correctly order the stages of this biological process. The game takes the form of a puzzle. Suitable for children over 6 years old. Each child who has completed the task - after correct guidance from our specialist - will receive a prize;
4) Fourth workshop - "Butterfly maze" - a puzzle through which participants will improve their ability to cope with challenges and improve concentration;

From 10:00 to 16:00.
Conducting three workshops throughout the day:
1) First workshop - "In the world of butterflies" - painting and colouring models of different types of butterflies;
2) Second workshop - "Metamorphosis"- a game to improve and develop knowledge about the process of "complete metamorphosis" in invertebrates. Participants will have to correctly order the stages of this biological process. The game takes the form of a puzzle. Suitable for children over 6 years old. Each child who has completed the task - after correct guidance from our specialist - will receive a prize;

1) First workshop - "Get to know the butterflies" - a game with questions through which children will learn more about the world of butterflies;
2) Second workshop - "Life Cycle" - a game to learn more about the different stages of insect development.3) Third workshop - "In the World of Butterflies" - drawing and colouring models of different butterfly species;
4) Fourth workshop - "Body parts" - a game through which children will learn more about the structure of butterflies;
From 13:30 to 15:00 - Our specialist will show you how to stuff butterflies. This will take place in the "Mammals" hall of the Regional Museum of Natural History - Plovdiv! Every visitor who is in the museum at this time will be able to see live how we taxidermied butterflies that we have kept in our "Tropic" hall.
16:00ч. - Awarding of first prizes and incentive prizes in the drawing competition "The Greatness of Butterflies".
From 10:00h to 16:00h - Face painting for children - A professional animator will paint the faces of willing participants in the festival with special paints that are completely harmless.
17.09.2023 /Sunday/
From 11:00 to 12:00 - Presentation* about the life of butterflies on the topic "In the world of butterflies". Very interesting and educational information about the overall life of butterflies will be presented. It is suitable for children from 1st to 7th grade.
From 13:00 to 15:00.
Our specialist will visually show you how to stuff butterflies. This will take place in the "Mammals" hall of the Regional Museum of Natural History - Plovdiv! Every visitor who is in the museum at that time will be able to see live how we taxidermied butterflies that we have kept in our "Tropic" hall.
From 10:00 am to 4:00 pm we will be holding four workshops throughout the day:
