In September, Plovdiv turns into an outdoor stage! Dozens of events of all genres will delight Plovdiv residents and guests, because the Autumn Salon of the Arts Plovdiv 2023 begins - the largest cultural format under the hills, which brings together festivals and individual events of all genres - music, theater, dance, literature, visual arts, exhibitions, art installations and more. Traditionally, the Autumn Salon of Arts is organized by Plovdiv Municipality and partners - cultural institutes, creative guilds, cultural operators and others.

This year 2023 is its 19th edition! The events take place in the period 1 September - 29 October 2023.

The official opening is always on 1 September. This year it will take place at the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv at 8 pm with a gala concert "Plovdiv - stars of music", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Dobrin Petkov (1923 - 1987). It will feature a symphony orchestra of current and former graduates of the Dobrin Petkov National School of Music and Dance with soloists Emma Tahmizyan, piano (USA) and Moni Simeonov, violin (USA).  The conductors will be Naiden Todorov - Chief Conductor of the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, graduate of the Plovdiv School of Music and Konstantin Dobroykov - Chief Conductor of the Sofia Soloists Chamber Ensemble, conductor of the symphony orchestra of the Dobrin Petkov National School of Music, graduate of the Plovdiv School of Music.  In the programme we will hear. Admission is free!

During this month full of emotions and events, and in the next October, the residents and guests of Plovdiv will have unlimited choice between arts and genres. Within the lounge we will enjoy numerous festivals, among which are the well-established - ACrossroads Stage Autumn Theater Festival 2023, the puppet "Two are Few - Three are Many" & "TheatAir" with the 25th edition and the 10th of the festival module TheatAir , International Festival "Balabanov’s House Music Days" Autumn Edition 2023, Plovdiv Jazz Fest, Guitart Festival, Art without Borders Festival, Thracian Mysteries Festival, European Music Festival 2023, Classic Open Air - Music on the hills, Theatrical Panorama of Comedies "Curtain under the Stars", Literature Night 2023, Kapana Fest - Autumn Season, Ninth Edition of Sinellibri Festival 2023, Facade Video Art Festival , as well as the traditional Old Town Festival 2023.

There will be many concerts, many exhibitions, the traditional Contemporary Art Week, 2023 with its 29th edition, International Photography Meetings, 2023 and many more. Among the exhibitions, there are also a few special ones because they are related to anniversaries: an exhibition on the occasion of Zlatyu Boyadzhiev's 120th birthday, an anniversary exhibition of Zdravko Yonchev on the occasion of his 85th anniversary and a retrospective exhibition of paintings by Nikolay Nyagolov on the occasion of his 60th anniversary. During the month we also celebrate 138 years since the Unification of Bulgaria and the City of Plovdiv's Feast Day on 6 September 2023.
