Chamber Scene Plovdiv: Echtzeitmusik
At the end of the summer, the interdisciplinary Bulgarian-German artist Bilyana Vuchkova arrives from Germany to present the project Music in Real Time at the Plovdiv Chamber Stage, together with double bassist Georgi Donchev and her colleagues from Berlin. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 12, at 19.00 in the First Studio of Radio Plovdiv.
What we will hear is really music in real time (Echtzeitmusik). The so-called "Echtzeitmusik" originated two decades ago in Berlin. Its roots can be traced back to the subcultural contexts of the 1990s, when it first manifested itself in the squats and underground clubs that appeared immediately after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Over the years, the Berlin music community associated with the scene in question developed a wide variety of experimental and unconventional musical forms. The original style of expression of the numerous artists presents music performed on instruments created by them, unconventional use and development of familiar instruments including classical ones, electro-acoustic music, thrash-pop, performance, soundtracks, etc.
Biljana Vuchkova is an instrumentalist, composer-performer, improviser and curator with a highly individual, unconventional artistic language. Through the focus of her early training in classical music, she explores states of spontaneity and intuitive resonance embodied in her multifaceted activities. Her work encompasses the widest possible spectrum of sound, vision, and movement, including concert performances with a strong improvisational spirit, contemporary compositions and original site specific works, exhibitions, durational multidisciplinary performances, audiovisual works, and installation formats focused on the relationship between the artist's inner world and the surrounding sonic space.
Chamber Stage Plovdiv is supported by the Municipality of Plovdiv and is part of the city's Cultural Calendar. The Echtzeitmusik concert is supported by Goethe Institute Bulgaria, Polish Cultural Centre, National Culture Fund and Art Office Foundation.
Tickets available on the Еnventim network and at the spot before the concert.
