The exhibition "Selected" from the X International Photo Salon Plovdiv 2023 is the second exhibition of the year, which Plovdiv citizens and guests of the city will be able to see, exposed on the fence of the Ancient Theatre, north entrance in the period 30 September - 20 October 2023. The opening is on 30 September at 18.00. The event is part of the programme of the Autumn Art Salon Plovdiv 2023.

Photo Salon Plovdiv is held for the tenth consecutive year under the patronage of FIAP, HPS, NSFA. It is supported by the Municipality of Plovdiv and is an integral part of the city's cultural calendar. A five-member jury, composed of two foreigners and three Bulgarians, examined and evaluated the 5851 photographs submitted from 42 countries in all 6 sections. For the final selection, the jury chose 1272 photographs by 330 participants from 40 countries. With high professionalism and experience, on the last day the jury determined all the prizes. The jury was chaired by Pierluigi Rizato, MFIAP, EFIAP/d3, HonEFIAP, (Italy) and the members were Dimitris Paraskevakis, ESFIAP, EFIAP/s, EHPS/s, GPU Cr2 (Greece), Miroslav Mominski, EFIAP/g, Ivaylo Sakellariev, EFIAP and Hristo Dimitrov, AFIAP, reserve member Teodora Dimitrova, EFIAP.  

The best photographs won 196 individual prizes, 11 prizes (by statistics) for authors and 3 for photo clubs. This rich prize pool, awarded the highest honors to the works of a total of 133 authors from 29 countries.

The best photographer in the salon, who received - the official light blue badge of FIAP is a Bulgarian - Yavor Michev, EFIAP. The highest award, the X IFS Plovdiv 2023 Cup is for photography by Mohamed Rimon, EFIAP, FBPS, EUSPA HON.FICS HON.PESGSPC from England. Plaque for the runner-up of the grand prize "Salon Cup" is for photography of Lyubomir Argirov, EFIAP. The Honorary Diploma of the Municipality of Plovdiv is for photography by Ivo Kuzov. Plovdiv 2019 Foundation Diploma is for photography by Sandra Zagolin, Italy. Diplomas from V&Art Foundation are for photographs by Pavel Reband, Estonia and Rustam Rakhimov, Russia.  The "Best Salon Participation Award" plaque from the Photographic Society of Greece (HPS) was awarded to Abishek Bisak, AFIAP, EFIAP, HON.CPE, A.NPS,IIG/P, HON.PESGSPC, IIG/S2,A.CPE from India. The plaque for the best performing foreign author (by the organizer) was won by Josef Hinsherleettner, EFIAP, MVÖAV from Austria.  

A total of 42 national photo artists won 57 awards, 10 of these awards were medals - 7 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. Each year the participation of artists from Plovdiv district is significant, and in 2023 42 artists participated out of all 118 Bulgarian artists. Out of all the awarded Bulgarian authors, 14 participants (individual and from the group "Photographic Zadruga" Plovdiv) are from Plovdiv - with a total of 17 awards.
