On 7 October (Saturday) 2023 at 11:00 a.m. the Balabanov House in the Old Town becomes the stage for a musical event - a concert matinee entitled "The Teachers of Prof. Nikolai Stoykov (1936-2020)". Participants are the Plovdiv pianists Dr. Velislava Stoyanova, Martin Dafinov and the soprano Neli Petkova - soloist of the Ruse Opera. The moderator will be prof. Romeo Smilkov.

The concert will feature 12 chamber works: three vocal works, three solo piano pieces, four ensemble works for 4 hands and two piano poems. Highlights include transcriptions of Prof. Nikolai Stoykov, which are an expression of respect to the great artists - J. С. Bach, W. Am. Mozart, P. Vladigerov, M. Goleminov, on whom his distinctive creative thinking is based.

A surprise for the audience will be the special participation of the organist Dimitar Dimitrov - a graduate of the University of Arts, Berlin, Germany. He will perform the iconic piano "Sarabande" by prof. Pancho Vladigerov - the teacher of prof. Nikolai Stoykov.

The event is supported by the Municipality of Plovdiv under the "Commemoration of Important Anniversaries of the City" program, part of the city's Cultural Calendar and kindly hosted by the Ancient Plovdiv Municipal Institute.
