Short Cinema in Fargo

On Wednesday, October 11 at 8:30 p.m., Short Cinema in Fargo invites fans of the seventh art to see two native short titles that have captured the attention of audiences over the past year. These are the films "Woodcutter" (2022, 24 min.) by Christian Bozov and "Tracks of Time" (2022, 21 min.) by Velianna Kasheva.

Woodcutter tells the story of Grandfather Matejko, who is a lonely pensioner living in a beautiful mountain village. When petty crooks steal his wood, the old man confronts the corrupt politics and comical incompetence of the local government. In an attempt to erase the injustice, Matejko resorts to extreme measures.

Ivan Savov, Tsvetan Alexiev, Alexander Kanev, Neno Koinarski, Nikola Dodov, Nicoleta Malcheva are participating. The film has two awards: Award from the IFF Sofia 2023 – competition for a Bulgarian short film and the Award of the Regional Governor of Burgas for the best short film from the Youth Jury of the 21st Sofia Film Fest on the Coast.

In "Tracks of Time", Victor boards the train on the way to his dreams. He knows he has only four stops to get off before reaching his goal. Convinced that nothing can go wrong, Victor gradually realizes that the train has its own course, and there is no going back….

Vladimir Dimitrov, Irinei Konstantinov, Ivan Burnev, Radosveta Vasileva, Rozalia Abgaryan, Gergana Galabova, Vasko Petrov, Konstantin Kuchev and others are participating. The film also won two awards: the Nonconformist Alternative and Cinema G8 Screenplay Award (2017) and the American Foundation for Bulgaria Student Competition Screenplay Award (2017).

The project "Short Cinema in Fargo" is implemented with the financial support of the Municipality of Plovdiv and is part of the Cultural Calendar of the city.
