On 22 October, Sunday, at 12.00, the Bishop's Basilica of Philippopolis will welcome the magnificent children's and youth ensemble "Ministrings" from Switzerland, which will delight the Plovdiv audience with a concert with free admission.

With the assistance of the Plovdiv Municipality, as part of the Autumn Arts Salon Plovdiv 2023 and with the kind hosting of the Ancient Plovdiv Municipal Institute, the talents from Lausanne will present a program with which they travel and perform concerts all over Europe, while finding time to get acquainted with the cultural and historical sights of the cities they visit. After the concert in the Basilica, the children will explore the sights of Old Plovdiv, where they will be accompanied by the Institute's professional guides.

The concert in the Basilica will also be attended by the children's orchestra "Symfonito" from the House of Musical Magic "Divizi" and children from the "Children's House" with the leaders Borislava Vassileva and Albena Biandova.

The Ministrings Ensemble was founded in 2002 at the Conservatory of Lausanne (Switzerland) by Tina Strinning, professor of violin, viola and pedagogy. In 2013 she was joined by Baiju Bhatt, a violinist working in jazz and contemporary music. "The Minstrings are also mentored by violinist Gilles Apap, with whom they have the opportunity to participate in master classes and perform concerts.

Between tours in Istanbul, Paris, Budapest or Barcelona, and now in Bulgaria, Ministrings are making their way with freshness and good mood. The children participating in the ensemble are selected from the age of 7 with a demanding and original approach. Often supported by the older ones in the group, they learn to take responsibility and play an active role in terms of their musical and stage performance. Young musicians perform on stage completely independently and without scores. Much of their music is enriched with group choreography, making their show colorful, fun and unique. The result is a great lesson in artistic and social values and personal development for every child in an inspiring setting.

The investment in expression and movement, improvisation and creativity, and the many projects experienced together create strong bonds of friendship and shared musical interests among the children, leading to the formation of various new ensembles such as Krysalid, the BAMS, Oct' Opus and the Bazar Quartet, ensuring continuity into the future.

"Ministrings have been awarded first prize several times with a special mention at the National Final of the Swiss Youth Music Competition. Since the founding of the group in 2002, several generations of children have passed through "Ministrings", radiating through their presence and through their "travelling" music an exciting and inspiring energy that leaves no one indifferent!
