On the Day of the People's Awakeners, 01.11.2023, from 7:00 p.m., in the "Planetarium" hall of the Regional Natural History Museum - Plovdiv, Petar Beron will briefly present his book and tell about his journey as a scientist and researcher.
"Panorama of Bulgarian Zoology" follows the development of Bulgarian zoology in the fields of taxonomy, systematics, fauna, zoogeography and ecology. Bulgaria is a country with enormous biological diversity. About 30,000 species of animals are known, and at least as many more are expected to be discovered.
Information is also presented on the history of Bulgarian zoology from 1776 to the present day. The contribution of the first teachers, who gave a lot of voluntary work after the Liberation to the gathering of the first collections and the creation of the first museum collections, is noted.
