On November 15, the World Two-Winged Day (flies and mosquitoes) is celebrated, and the aim is to promote species with a particularly important role in ecosystems.
Many of them pollinate plant species that have no other way of reproducing, while others help in biological control, such as syrphid flies, which eat large amounts of aphids. Come to discover the beauty of dipterans!
Svetlozara and Anelia will introduce you to the world of flies and mosquitoes and how to distinguish them from other insects. They will share interesting species known from all over the world, and finally they will test your knowledge with a small quiz. Of course, there will be prizes!
The commemoration of the day will continue with the making of a keepsake paper biplane in our small studio-workshop!
Come to the World Two-Winged Day at the Natural History Museum in Plovdiv from 5:30 p.m. to learn interesting facts about Diptera.
The entrance to the event does not give the right to view the entire exhibition of the museum!
The event is intended for children over 7 years old, as well as for all curious insect fans.
