Music and drama theater "Konstantin Kisimov" - Veliko Tarnovo is visiting Plovdiv with the operetta by Imre Kalman "Countess Maritsa". The performance will be played on December 27, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Boris Hristov House of Culture.

Director Petko Bonev bets on a classic reading of one of the most popular and beloved operettas in the world. Fans of musical art will be able to enjoy the spectacle in the original version by Julius Brammer and Alfred Grünwald, who wrote the libretto.

The opera will transport the audience to Hungary, to the countess's mansion, where the action takes place. First staged on February 28, 1924 at the Theater der der Wien in the Austrian capital of Vienna, "Countess Maritza" reflects the opulent atmosphere of the first decade of the twentieth century.

The conductor-director of the performance is Georgi Patrikov, the sets and costumes are by the late set designer Boris Stoinov, and the choreography is by Zelka Tabakova. The conductor is Vasil Valchev, the choirmaster is Yanitsa Parvanova, and the concertmaster is Milena Bainova. The orchestra, choir and ballet of the Music and drama theater "Konstantin Kisimov".
