"Short films at Fargo" with the last event of the year dedicated to contemporary Bulgarian cinema

On December 13 at 8:30 p.m., the last event of "Short Films at Fargo" for this year will take place, which will be dedicated entirely to contemporary Bulgarian cinema. Many guests and two wonderful films await you: "Party Bus" by Dilyana Daneva and "The Curse of the Dutchman" by Angel Radev.

The Curse of the Dutchman

A young man is notified of his uncle's death and arrives at his home. There he learns that his relative tried to set fire to the house in a moment of madness. From his diary, he learns about his obsession with The Flying Dutchman and a mysterious box with proof of its existence. The young man opens the box, not suspecting that he will unlock a terrible curse.

Angel Radev is a director and composer. His passion for silent cinema motivated him to write and direct The Curse of the Dutchman. He is currently working at the Bulgarian National Film Library as a film archivist and meanwhile is developing new projects. Member of the guild of Bulgarian filmmakers.

The film took part in the festivals Brno16 (Czech Republic), IFF Burgas and Octopus (Poland)

Party Bus

Alex is a driver in a provincial psychiatry. He has to transport a group of mentally ill people to the clinic where he works. The task is routine, but the stakes are high. Patients should arrive at the clinic by noon. If he does not comply with this condition, Alex will lose not only his job, but also the chance to pay for his daughter's treatment.

All is going well until he stops for a short break at a roadside diner. When he returns, he finds the bus empty. Patients have disappeared.

Stuck at a dead end, Alex realizes he's about to lose everything, until a group of strangers who, like him, need help stand in his way. Overwhelmed by emotions and determined to save his child, he makes a fateful decision that will change his life and the lives of the strangers.

The film is inspired by real events and is proud of its participation in festivals such as IN THE PALACE, Cannes Film Awards (France), Barcelona Indie Awards (Spain), AFIN - International Film Festival (Australia) and others.

Entrance is free! We remind you to reserve your seats in the Fargo Club in advance by phone: +359 87 720 0607. The project is implemented with the support of the Municipality of Plovdiv.
