Builders of the Freedom Monument
The National Park-Museum "Shipka-Buzludzha" is visiting the Regional History Museum - Plovdiv with the exhibition "Builders of the Freedom Monument".
The photo-documentary exhibition "Builders of the Freedom Monument" is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the opening and consecration of the Monument to the Revival and Liberation of the Bulgarian People on Mount St. Nicholas, which we all call the Freedom Monument today. 22 panels with photos and facsimiles of documents and correspondence tell the story of the construction of the monument, the difficulties that engineers and builders overcame, building this most Bulgarian monument on the top of the Balkans. Another seven panels are dedicated to the architects Atanas Donkov, Gencho Skordev and Ivan Danchov, to the sculptors Alexander Andreev and Kiril Shivarov, to the masters Penyo Atanasov-Bombeto (The Bowler Hat) and Ilia Muglov, who made the most important contribution to the construction. The exhibition also presents original sketches and drawings, the tools of master Penyo-Bombeto, as well as the Golden Book of the Freedom Monument.
Welcome to the opening on March 01 (Friday) at 6:00 p.m.!
