Regional Natural History Museum - Plovdiv is pleased to invite you to the ART workshop "Living painting from Scandinavian lichen".

Date: February 4 (Sunday) 2024

Participants can enroll in one of two groups:
I. group from 10:00 a.m
II. group from 1:00 p.m
Duration of the workshop: 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Materials to be used: photo frame, Scandinavian lichen (various colors), leather, etc. natural materials.
Each participant will have the opportunity to create their own beautiful and unique painting to take home as a keepsake.

Where does the natural Scandinavian lichen come from?
Polar lichen (Cladonia stellaris)
Known by its Latin name, Cladonia stellaris is an ecologically important species of lichen that forms a soft carpet over large areas in the Boreal Forest, also known as the Taiga. It is collected under extremely strict supervision, as it is a protected plant species.
It has the ability to repel dust particles in the air, does not attract insects or pathogenic microorganisms. In this way, the decoration is also extremely suitable for children's rooms or closed playgrounds. Creates a calm, comfortable, quiet and soothing atmosphere.

The Living Painting from Scandinavian Lichen workshop is a magical, creative, educational and fun activity and suitable for ages 6+.
