Ensemble "Rhodopa" Smolyan is a guest on the stage of the House of Culture "Boris Hristov" in the city of Plovdiv on March 23 at 7:00 p.m.

In the last 10 years, the ensemble marked a great rise and deservedly won the prize Ensemble of the Year and Production of the Year with the music and dance performance "THE BRIDE", which was presented almost all over Bulgaria, in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture and the Rozhenski Polyani.

The newest project of the "Rhodopa" ensemble is the "LOST RHYTHMS" trilogy, which deservedly won the "Crystal Lyre" award in the dance folklore category for 2023. In front of the background of the most famous songs, playing and dance steps, drawn from the authentic wealth of the Rhodope ethnic group, a "plot line" as old as ancient times is drawn: the resistance of the father's authority to the "love" of the female child, daring to fall in love with an "unsuitable” beloved, not meeting the father's criteria for wealth and material prosperity.

The trilogy was defined as a step towards a folk musical. Images from the works of famous Bulgarian artists are included with multimedia. Vladimir Dimitrov - the Master's signature canvases, Alexander Zhendov and other paintings by our great artists are painted on stage with dance and rhythms, and through a Rhodope folklore atmosphere, the ensemble recreates the eternal struggle between Good and Evil.

The performance is realized with the help of a huge multimedia screen, which create a multimedia scenography. In this way, the Folklore Ensemble "Rhodopa" sets the stage for a new way of presenting Bulgarian folklore and art. Screenplay, direction and multimedia - Adrian Petrov.
