We are celebrating 80 years. from the birth of the great choir conductor Krikor Chetinyan with a solemn concert at AMTII

Municipality of Plovdiv and the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts "Prof. Asen Diamandiev" will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the great Bulgarian choir conductor Krikor Chetinyan with a solemn concert on March 30, 2024. from 18.00 in the concert hall of AMTII.

Krikor Chetinyan (22.06.1943 – 28.01.2018) is a long-time teacher of conducting at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, founder and long-time conductor of the Academy's Women's Chamber Choir, an outstanding pedagogue, has given concerts and won international honors in Europe, the USA , Canada and Japan, he also led the Plovdiv Singing Society "Angel Bukoreshtliev". Holder of the city's badge of honor, the Order of Cyril and Methodius, he presented and popularized Bulgarian folklore and contemporary music all over the world. The high artistic level that he manages to achieve is the pinnacle of executive mastery and an example to follow.

On the occasion of the anniversary, Bulgarian National Television - Plovdiv is preparing a documentary about the creative path of Krikor Chetinyan, parts of which will be broadcast during the music event.

At the concert, the audience will hear "Little Solemn Mass" by Giacchino Rossini performed by the "Capella Arte" Vocal Ensemble, conducted by Krastin Nastev - student of Maestro Chetinyan and soloists Rumyana Kostova - soprano, Anita Dafinska - mezzo-soprano, Marin Yonchev - tenor, Plamen Kumpikov - bass and pianists Nadezhda Kuzmanova and Velislava Karagenova .

The concert takes place with the support of the Municipality of Plovdiv and the entrance is free!
