Plovdiv is hosting the 15th Annual International Wine Tourism Conference
Deputy Mayor Plamen Panov congratulated the participants from 50 countries, the forum continues tomorrow

In the period April 9-10, Plovdiv is hosting the 15th Annual International Wine Tourism Conference (IWINETC). The format is a prestigious, large-scale annual event that gathers professionals and experts in the field of wine and culinary tourism from all over the world, and Plovdiv with its ancient traditions in winemaking, diverse terroirs and rich cultural and historical heritage stood out as an exciting destination for holding the specialized format.

The conference is attended by about 100 participants from 50 countries, who are looking forward to a truly unforgettable experience in the fascinating atmosphere, culture, excellent wine and culinary offerings of the ancient and eternal Plovdiv.

The two-day working program of the forum started today in a hotel in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Plovdiv center. The conference was opened by Anthony Swift, Director of IWINETC. The deputy mayor for culture, archeology and tourism, Plamen Panov, also greeted the participants, who first warmly greeted the attendees on behalf of the mayor of Plovdiv, Kostadin Dimitrov. In his welcome speech, Plamen Panov emphasized the importance of holding specialized formats, which are a good opportunity to share experience and cooperation on one hand, and on other hand, confirm the image of Plovdiv not only as a destination for cultural, historical and wine tourism, but and as a destination for event and conference tourism.

A day earlier, the Municipality of Plovdiv organized for the participants a walking tour to the most important tourist attractions in the city and a welcome cocktail in the Small Earlychristian Basilica.

In the following days, the forum features a range of fascinating sessions, seminars and tastings led by renowned wine professionals and experts. Participants will gain insight into the latest wine tourism trends, sustainable practices and innovative approaches to wine tourism marketing.

Emphasis will be placed on wine regions and wine tourism in Plovdiv and its surroundings. Opportunities to exchange experiences and good practices abound, encouraging the creation of future partnerships between key stakeholders in the tourism and wine industries. Within the framework of the forum, there are stands arranged in the lobby, and professional wine tastings from the Plovdiv region and the country are coming up.
