On May 10 at 6 p.m. Milena Velcheva's exhibition "The Orthodox Patrons of Europe" will open in the City Art Gallery - Plovdiv. The spiritual experience will be enriched by the poetry of Ilya Velchev - poet, screenwriter, director.

The center of Milena Velcheva's exhibition is a painting dedicated to the Holy Septuagint. Our language, created and edited by saints, guarded and chosen by saints, has been graciously given to other nations by saints. People who believed in the power and victory of the logos, created a new civilization in Europe. It is an honor for Europe to have such patrons. Among the 33 paintings from the exhibition are monasteries from Bulgaria and abroad, thematically related to the main idea, as well as Gethsemane gardens, lavender fields and landscapes...

The creative work of Milena Velcheva is invariably connected with the contemporary artistic reflection of the Orthodox idea and the exceptional place of Bulgaria in its preservation and flourishing over the centuries. Gifted with a warm reception and blessing by representatives of the Bulgarian Church, in addition to art galleries, some of her 19 solo exhibitions are exhibited in churches and monasteries in our country and abroad - in the church of "St. Alexander Nevsky" under the auspices of Patriarch Neophyte and Bishop Dometian, "Christ the Savior" temple in Moscow in 2010, in Bachkovo Monastery in 2021 and 2023 under the auspices of Bishop Sioniy, etc. Her painting "The Embrace of Peace" was donated to His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I by a monastic delegation from Mount Athos and Bulgaria in 2023.

The exhibition "Orthodox Patrons of Europe" can be viewed until May 29.
