A big concert of the beloved Bulgarian band "Tonika" on the stage of the Ancient Theater will take place on September 8 at 8:00 p.m.

The musical show will mark the over 40-year presence in the Bulgarian musical life of Militsa, Ralitsa, Drago and Emil. The concert will also honor the memory of the late singer Vanya Kostova. The group will delight the audience with their big hits such as "One undivided class", "Maria", "Friends" and others.

"It is a big challenge for us to perform a solo concert in the Ancient Theater in Plovdiv, on one of the most beautiful stages in Bulgaria. We have traveled all over the country, we have sung on all the stages in the country, but this will be our first completely independent concert in the Ancient Theater," said Militsa Bozhinova.

Preparations for the spectacular show have already begun. The concert will also feature new songs that the audience will hear for the first time. The concert will be a kind of benefit for the most popular and popular vocal group in Bulgaria. He will tell their story through their music.

The idea of creating a vocal group at the Main Directorate of Construction Troops was born at the end of 1979. This group should perform Bulgarian pop songs and tour the units to raise the spirits of the servicemen. At that time, 249 candidates from all over Bulgaria appeared in the competition for soloists of the group. The first songs for the new formation were created in 1979. The director is the composer Stefan Diomov.

On March 12, 1980, the group "Tonika SV" was officially presented - with the addition SV (Construction Troops). Over the years, its members included: Vanya Kostova (alto, 1980 - 1986, 2015 - 2021), Militsa Bozhinova (soprano 1980 - until now), Ralitsa Angelova (alto 1980 - until now), Dragomir Dimitrov (tenor 1980 - until now), Teodor Shishmanov (bass-baritone 1980 - 1983, 2015 - 2023) and Emil Vasilev (bass-baritone 1983 - 1991, 2023 - until now) .

For 45 years, "Tonika" became and remains one of the most beloved and significant musical formations, which left a mark in the memories of generations of Bulgarians.
