On May 18, in relation with the celebration of the International Day of Museums, we open the doors of our annual exhibition "Discoveries", in which we present the most interesting finds of our archaeologists from the past archaeological season.

Every year the image of the exhibition is dictated by a different theme, and for 2024 we chose "The Secrets Behind the Finds". In each display case you will find additional information that will show you the invaluable knowledge that archaeologists see in the unnecessary objects of the past. Even the smallest find can hold a great story waiting to be told.
Among the objects that are presented in the exhibition are rescue archaeological studies in the city of Plovdiv, including the prehistoric settlement mound "Flat Mound", located along the route of Brezovsko Shose Street. You will also see news from the latest explorations of Nebet Tepe, the East Gate of Philippopolis and the Great Mound in the southern industrial zone.

We hope that this exhibition will challenge your imagination and make you look in a new way at objects from the past that are much more than just artifacts – they are keys to making sense of human history.

On May 18, admission to the museum will be free all day! The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. We are waiting for you!
