For a fourth consecutive year, the Made at the Academy festival, organized by the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts "Prof. Asen Diamandiev" - Plovdiv, will present on various stages and locations the creative potential of students, teachers and leading names in Bulgarian contemporary art in the genres of opera, fashion, classical music, jazz, dance, fine and visual arts and folklore. This year the festival is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of AMTII.

Made at the Academy starts at the Roman Stadium on June 4 at 6 p.m. with the opening of the exhibition "Academy 6.0 - 60 years of the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts "Prof. Asen Diamandiev" - Plovdiv", the work of Prof. Dr. Galina Lardeva and Assoc. Dr. Alexander Gyoshev, and the exhibition will last until the end of the month.

A special gift for all the people of Plovdiv is the fashion show of students from the "Clothing Design" major led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinka Kasabova starting at 6:15 p.m. at the Roman Stadium.

From 6:30 p.m., again in the Roman Stadium, the Academic Opera Theater awaits its spectators for the one-act opera "The Gambler" by Luigi Cherubini based on the libretto by Antonio Salvi. In the roles: Serpila - Evgenia Stavreva /mezzo-soprano/ and Bakoko - Ouyang Runze /baritone/ with the participation of a string quartet composed of Tanya Penkova - concertmaster, Zara Dikova - violin, Li Jiaxin - viola and Marian Kostov - cello. Piano accompaniment on harpsichord - Martin Dafinov. Conductor is Ch. assistant professor Dr. Aliya Hanse, and the director - associate professor Dr. Ivaylo Mihailov. Vocal consultants: Associate Professor Dr. Ivaylo Mihailov and Assistant Professor Alper Yunlyutürk, scenography and props - Daria Panayotova and Alexandra Kalaidzhieva, costumes are by Theater Studio "A'part".

The second day of the festival, June 5, continues from 18:00 in the temporary exhibition halls of the City Art Gallery at 15 Knyaz Alexander I Batenberg Street with the representative Annual Exhibition of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Academy, in which present all specialties of the faculty: Graphic Design and Photography, Pedagogy of Fine Art Education, Scenography, Photography, Clothing Design, Wall Painting, Painting, Graphics and Sculpture. According to tradition, the awarded students in the annual student competition will be announced at the event.

From 8:30 p.m. on June 5, the Academy presents at the Ancient Theater the culmination of the festival - the big concert "The Academy invites Plovdiv" with the participation of the representative academic ensembles and compositions of AMTII, students, doctoral students and teachers, graduates in performing arts of leading teachers and artists from the Academy, holders of prestigious international art awards - conductors, choreographers, dancers, scenographers, singers and instrumentalists, united by the idea of presenting a concert at the highest level in Plovdiv.

From 2021 until now, Made at the Academy takes place with the financial support of the Plovdiv Municipality and is part of the city's Cultural Calendar. The festival is the winner of the prestigious "Plovdiv" award in the section "Contemporary multi-genre arts" for 2022 as a polyphonically constructed product of artists from all faculties and specialties of AMTII "Prof. Asen Diamandiev". The project is carried out in partnership with OI "Ancient Plovdiv".
