From June 8 to 10, the Guitar Festival brings "Generations" together in Plovdiv!

The "Generations" Guitar Festival is organized by the "Guitar-Plovdiv" Association, chaired by Prof. Dr. Stella Miteva-Dinkova. It was created in 2015 by the idea of Plovdiv guitarist and pedagogue Harry Nigohosyan as part of the "Art Belozem" festival program, which takes place in the village of Belozem and brings musicians and artists together on one stage. Two years later, "Generations" found a new home at the "Ivan Vazov-1904" Community Center in Plovdiv. The Revival house, with its incredible atmosphere, hosted over 200 Plovdiv guitarists—students, teachers, chamber formations, and guitar ensembles—from 2017 to 2021. Since 2022, the festival has become a national event, featuring talented children and young people from all over the country.

This edition of the "Generations" Guitar Festival is part of the cultural calendar of the Municipality of Plovdiv. It presents to the Plovdiv public four events:
The festival stage with over 40 participants from Plovdiv, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Burgas, and Asenovgrad. It will be held on June 8 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at NUMTI "Dobrin Petkov," Plovdiv. Instrumentalists playing classical, electric, and acoustic guitars, aged between 7 and 20, will be judged by three professional juries chaired by Prof. Dr. Stella Miteva-Dinkova, Dr. Milena Maneva-Valcheva, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Petar Koichev.

On June 9, the festival program includes educational activities. At 11:30 AM in the "Prof. Vladimir Avramov" Hall at AMTII "Prof. Asen Diamandiev," there will be a lecture-workshop with Blagovest Georgiev (France/Bulgaria) – a contemporary Bulgarian guitarist and pedagogue, who will share his creative journey and present a short concert program with guitar masterpieces. On the same day at 2:00 PM, two Guitar Workshops will start in parallel locations ("Prof. Vladimir Avramov" Hall, AMTII and the Concert Hall on 39 Saborna St.): "Guitarino" with Dayana Racheva, intended for the youngest and all who want to get to know the instrument, and "Pop and Jazz Guitar" led by Petar Koichev, which will present the main techniques for electric guitar. At 3:30 PM in the "Creative Lab for Virtuosos," Yoana Tiholova will share valuable experience with young guitarists (Hall "Prof. Vladimir Avramov," AMTII).

The "Generations" Guitar Festival will conclude on June 10 at 3:30 PM with an Educational Concert "Guitar." Awarded participants from the festival stage will play in front of at-risk children from the "Olga Skobeleva" Social Services Complex, presenting the guitar to their peers and integrating them into the art.

The event is realized with the financial support of the Municipality of Plovdiv and in partnership with NUMTI "D. Petkov," AMTII "Prof. Asen Diamandiev," "Olga Skobeleva" Social Services Complex, Cremona Factory, and BalkаNota Publishing House.

All events in the program are free of charge.
