European Volleyball Championship for Men Under 18
In the height of summer, Bulgaria welcomes the rising stars of European volleyball. The cities of Sofia and Plovdiv will host the European Championship for men under 18 years old from July 10 to 21. The best 16 teams in this age group will compete in the "Levski Sofia" hall in the capital and the "Kolodruma" hall in Plovdiv. Among them is the national team of Bulgaria, which won the Balkan Championship (for men under 17) a year ago and played in the final of the European Championship (under 17).
The format of the continental championship, organized by the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation (BVF) and under the aegis of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV), includes a group stage and eliminations. The draw for the two groups resulted in the following pools:
Group A - Sofia: Bulgaria, Poland, France, Turkey, Finland, Austria, Ukraine, and Portugal.
Group B - Plovdiv: Italy, Czech Republic, Belgium, Slovenia, Greece, Romania, Spain, and Estonia.
In the groups, the teams play in a round-robin system, and only the top two finishers in the final standings advance to the semifinals. The top two from one group play against the top two from the other group. The Top 4 matches, where the medals will be distributed, will take place in the capital.
Tickets can be purchased online through the EVENTIM.BG network.
