Nashenetz
"Nashenetz" – a solo performance by Marius Kurkinski on August 17th at 8:30 PM at the Ancient Theatre.
"Everything began when I thought I was Don Juan ("Don Juan" - 1993). Shortly after, with much trepidation, I performed the song of all songs ("Song of Songs" - 1993)! I met a mysterious lady who helped me step onto the big stage and get acquainted with numerous audiences ("The Lady with the Little Dog" - 1996). To this day, I don't understand how I gathered the courage to approach the New Testament ("The Gospel According to Matthew" - 1997). This helped me find the man within myself ("The Man Himself" - 1999)! I dreamed that I had awakened ("The Dream" - 2001). I woke up and experienced a shock ("The Shock" - 2006)! From it, I learned much about both my ancestors and the contemporary Bulgarian audience ("Bulgarian Stories" - 2010). Later, I realized that I had imperceptibly become a funny man who dreams again ("The Dream of the Ridiculous Man" - 2014). I finally reached the truth! I am simply an artist, locked in the theater after the end of yet another performance, unable to enter reality ("Jubilee" - 2015). Then, a black bird landed on the stage and once again carried me on the wings of theater ("The Black Bird" - 2016)! I played, played, played, and reached ("Marius 50" - 2019). I will seek the reasons in "Nashenetz"!”
