Every year in September, Plovdiv transforms into an incredible open stage hosting dozens of events from various genres. This marks the beginning of the Autumn Salon of Arts Plovdiv - the largest cultural format under the hills, which brings together festivals and events from all genres - music, theater, dance, literature, visual arts, exhibitions, art installations, and much more.

The traditional organizer is the Municipality of Plovdiv, in partnership with cultural institutes, creative guilds, cultural operators, and numerous artists. This year, 2024, the Autumn Salon of Arts Plovdiv celebrates its 20th edition.

The official opening is on September 1st at 9:00 PM at the Ancient Theater with a concert by Vasil Petrov, titled “30 Years in Music. The Best of Vasil Petrov.”

The beloved jazzman with a velvety voice, often called "The Bulgarian Frank Sinatra," will lead the audience on an unforgettable musical journey with the greatest classics and hits of all time. With his concert in Plovdiv, Vasil Petrov marks 30 years on stage. On this occasion, he has prepared a special, exciting program for fans of romantic music, including selected songs from his extensive repertoire, presented in his uniquely elegant manner, with grand orchestration featuring jazz nuances, alongside the Vratsa Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Hristo Pavlov.

A special guest in the program is the young, beautiful, and talented violinist Zornitsa Ilarionova. She will accompany Vasil Petrov in several songs and will present classical and film themes that have won Oscar awards. The jazz line-up includes Yordan Tonovski (piano), Hristo Minchev (bass), and Kristian Zhelev (drums).

The concert will feature favorite songs of Vasil Petrov from his various albums. For the first time, there will also be a series of Latin-themed songs (Besame Mucho, Quando, Quando, Quizas Quizas Quizas), as well as familiar and beloved, but newly arranged original songs "The Other" and "Shelter in the Rain." We will also hear pop classics like Killing Me Softly, Can't Take My Eyes Off You, some iconic Beatles songs such as Yesterday and Michelle, the rock classic Soldier of Fortune, and Frank Sinatra evergreens - My Way, Strangers in the Night, New York, New York.
