On September 5 Plovdiv celebrates 10 years #together - European capital of culture

Oscar and the Wolf and Kraak & Smaak are coming to Plovdiv to celebrate a decade since the city was chosen as the European Capital of Culture and 5 years since the unforgettable year of the title 2019. 

The Plovdiv 2019 Foundation and the Municipality of Plovdiv invite the citizens and guests of Plovdiv to a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the city’s declaration as the European Capital of Culture. The free entry event will start at 6:30 pm at the Plovdiv Central Square.

DJ Dian Solo takes the stage first at 6:30 pm. DJ Dian Solo is one of the creators of the Deep Zone Project, he is among the most established artists on the Bulgarian music scene today.

08:30 pm Kraak&Smaak a global trio from the Netherlands an extremely successful example in their role as both musicians and producers on the electronic music scene in Europe. They headlined festivals such as Glastonbury, Sziget, Exit, and Lowlands.

10:00 pm - 11:00 pm – Oscar & the Wolf. Oscar and the Wolf one of the most popular artists in Europe, with his mesmerizing voice Max Colombie gathers legions of fans and sells out stadiums. Fans are always on edge and eagerly await the performances of the Belgian electro-pop superstar.

The event's motto is 10 years #Together, 5 years European Capital of Culture, It's happening everyday. Every day is a day to celebrate in Plovdiv!

The tenth anniversary of Plovdiv, the European Capital of Culture, takes place in partnership with the Fest Team.

Oscar and the Wolf (description)

Max Colombie's project creates a dazzling and brilliant fusion of contemporary R&B with a European electro-pop sensibility. Oscar and the Wolf started in 2012, but 2014 was the year that platinum-selling debut album Entity catapulted Max Colombie to superstar status. His rapid rise to fame saw him sell out arenas in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Turkey and headline festivals before acts such as Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Rihanna, and LCD Soundsystem, while also garnering him a huge fan base in the Middle East in Turkey, Egypt, Israel and Iran, as well as in France, Switzerland, Germany and Eastern European markets. Oscar and the Wolf come to Bulgaria for the first time in Plovdiv on September 5.

Kraak & Smaak (description) 

Kraak & Smaak are Oskar de Jong, Wim Plug, and Mark Kneppers - a global trio from the Netherlands that has already established itself as extremely successful as both performers and producers on the electronic music scene. With a combination of genres such as disco, funk, electronica, indie, deep house, soul, and pop, they debuted with the album "Boogie Angst", which brought them international popularity. The success of their second album, "Plastic People", and the single "Squeeze Me" earned them invitations to major festivals such as Glastonbury and Sziget. Over the years they released several more successful albums while establishing themselves as an outstanding live band and DJ, celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2023. Kraak & Smaak are currently working on their 7th album.
