Regional Archaeological Museum - Plovdiv is proud to announce the first organized archaeological bike tour in the city under the hills. On September 22, 2024, within the European Heritage Days, lovers of history and an active lifestyle will have the unique opportunity to discover Plovdiv in a new and different way.

Entitled "On the Path of the Water", the tour will trace important water routes in the city, with an emphasis on the path and functions of the aqueducts and the Maritsa River. Guides will direct participants' attention to historical processes and archaeological monuments that often remain outside the focus of standard tourist routes. The purpose of the museum is to stimulate the curiosity of Plovdiv residents and guests of the city, while promoting an active lifestyle and the use of bicycle transport as an ecological alternative.

The tour is suitable for anyone able to navigate a bicycle in an urban environment and will provide participants with an opportunity to learn more about the role of water in creating roads, communication networks and connections in Plovdiv's archaeological past. The event is paid and tickets can be purchased online.
