"Days of Japanese Culture in Bulgaria" is visiting Plovdiv with an exhibition, performance and ikebana workshop

From October 21 to 27, 2024 in the Eastern sector of the Roman Stadium in the city of Plovdiv, residents and guests of the city will be able to enjoy an ikebana exhibition , as well as participate in an ikebana performance and workshop. The event is part of the 35th "Days of Japanese Culture in Bulgaria" and is held under the patronage of the Embassy of Japan in Sofia.

Ikebana is a Japanese art that inspires us to create and express our unique selves through the beauty of flowers. The Miracle Exhibition Ikebana will present the diversity of ikebana – from simple and frugal compositions, through sculptural flower compositions, to large, rich compositions characteristic of the Sogetsu school . Visitors to Miracle Ikebana over the years have been described as ' a walk in beauty', 'beautiful, interesting, fresh, mood-setting', 'very beautiful and soothing', 'breathtaking compositions', 'a feast for the senses', 'colorful inspiration'. Visitors to the exhibition will experience these emotions again in the city of Plovdiv, and then in the city of Sofia.

The performance will be performed by the well-known Miroslava Ivanova with the Japanese name Hosen , an ikebana artist and licensed teacher at the Sogetsu Tokyo school. Miroslava Ivanova Hosen is a 3rd degree teacher ( Sankiu Shihan ) from the most advanced ikebana school in the world, Sogetsu School of Ikebana . She will give a performance during the official opening of the exhibition, and her students will also participate in the event. The performance will showcase a conceptual arrangement of ikebana accompanied by Japanese music, a truly relaxing experience and delight for the eyes and soul of those present. Participants in the workshops will not only get to know this art in detail, but also make their "First Ikebana".

Miroslava Ivanova has been actively involved in the art of ikebana for 12 years. After undergoing serious training at the Tokyo Sogetsu School , she became a licensed ikebana teacher with the given name Hosen . In 2018 continues his studies in Tokyo with a master instructor at the headquarters of Sogetsu - Eiko Sumura sensei . She is the founder of Miracle Ikebana and has devoted herself to popularizing the art of ikebana in Bulgaria by providing trainings, exhibitions and decorating events.
