EX MACHINA, First International festival for professional and youth ancient theatre in Bulgaria

The festival is dedicated to ancient theaters and culture. In addition to Bulgarian participation, the program of the first edition includes performances from Greece and Italy – the countries that built ancient culture and formed the foundations of European civilization.
The Ancient Theater in Plovdiv will become a stage for young talents, while the evening performances are reserved for professionals. Highlights of the program include the monodrama by Leonid Yovchev, directed by Ani Vaseva – "Metamorphoses," the guest performance "Anamnesis" from Athens, and "Orpheus and Eurydice" based on ancient and Bulgarian texts.
The mission of the festival is to encourage youth involvement in ancient theaters, which is why the festival selection also includes several performances by young people from Bulgaria, Greece, and Italy.

The festival is supported by Plovdiv Municipality.
