Bulgarian Literature in Brief
Bulgarian Literature in Brief, Theatre
Tuesday, October 28th at 7 p.m.
S.I.L.A. Complex
The play takes place in a school classroom. Three teachers (played by Stefani Ivaylo, Nencho Ilchev, and Zlatomir Moldovanski) face the challenge of teaching the entirety of Bulgarian literature in an engaging and modern way so that today’s students can truly understand it.
The teachers passionately act out the conflicts between Ivan Vazov and Pencho Slaveykov, Yovkov and Elin Pelin, the love triangle between Yavorov, Lora, and Mina, and stage scenes from Under the Yoke, On the Furrow, and On the Wire.
Through laughter and bitter irony, Bulgarian Literature in Brief tells the story of the absurd situation in Bulgarian education and the ridiculous challenges faced by both students and teachers.
