Bulgarian Literature in Brief
Bulgarian Literature in Brief, Theatre
Friday, June 26 at 8:30 p.m.
Orpheus Summer Cinema
The audience will witness the meeting between Ivan Vazov and Pencho Slaveykov, peek into the world of Yordan Yovkov and Elin Pelin, find themselves in the love triangle between Yavorov – Lora – Mina, and experience in a new way scenes from “Under the Yoke,” “On the Road,” and “At the Crossroads.”
Ivo Sirakov’s play presents, with a great deal of humor and self-irony, not only Bulgaria’s timeless literary classics but also the absurdities of the education system that teachers face every day. The result is a performance that is both entertaining and thought-provoking – turning a literature lesson into a celebration.
“Bulgarian Literature in Brief” is an event for everyone who has been a student, for everyone who has studied or taught, and for anyone who loves theatre.
