Spring in Plovdiv has the taste of wine and gourmet delights.
In the historic houses and courtyards of the Old Town, you will discover a selection of Bulgarian wines, artisanal foods, and gourmet products, presented in an authentic and artistic atmosphere.
The Wine and Gourmet Festival is a natural continuation of the well-established Bulgarian festival Defile of Young Wine. It aims to promote Bulgarian wine and cuisine, as well as to support the development of wine, culinary, and cultural tourism by organizing wine and food tastings throughout May in the Old Town of Plovdiv.
The main idea behind Defile “Wine & Gourmet” is to create an attractive opportunity for visitors from Bulgaria and abroad to experience the Old Town of Plovdiv at the beginning of the active tourist season.

Imagine it like this:
Cobblestone streets bathed in May sunshine. The courtyards of centuries-old Plovdiv houses transformed into tasting rooms. The scent of freshly poured wine mingling with the aroma of artisan cheeses and homemade bread. A winemaker, standing beside his bottle, telling you about his vineyard, the harvest, the decision he made at three in the morning and...
This is not a wine exhibition. This is an encounter experienced through the senses.
What awaits you:
A curated selection of Bulgarian wines - from established wineries to small family cellars that rarely venture beyond their home region. Artisan foods and gourmet products from passionate local producers. Tastings, music, entertainment, dinners — and all of it set against the natural backdrop of Plovdiv's Old Town Revival architecture.
