The program of the event features three exceptionally intriguing and beautiful works, presented for the first time to the Plovdiv audience. The concert is conducted by Borislav Yotsov, brother of the composer, and is part of the Autumn Salon of Arts in Plovdiv.
Hristo Yotsov is an artist with a remarkable ability to blend different musical worlds. A virtuoso percussionist, he is also a composer, arranger, and educator. Recognized as one of the most creative and active musicians on the Bulgarian jazz scene, he continuously produces original music and initiates new projects, often involving and supporting young talents.
In his compositions, he seamlessly merges classical forms with jazz improvisation. His works span big band and jazz ensemble pieces, as well as symphonic, film, and theatrical music. Though rooted in jazz, his music reflects a strong connection to the Bulgarian compositional tradition. He skillfully incorporates instrumental themes inspired by Bulgarian folk song, uses unconventional instruments within the orchestra, and collaborates with diverse musicians. His music is characterized by movement, dynamics, color, and emotion.
