A philosophical and deeply human comedy that raises questions about morality, freedom, love, and the fleeting nature of promises.
The action unfolds over the course of a single day in the life of the famous French Enlightenment philosopher Denis Diderot. On this very day, Diderot urgently needs to write an article on morality for his great project, “The Encyclopedia,” but finds himself caught in a web of sensual blackmail. Several beautiful and seductive women, each with different intentions, gather around him, continuously challenging his views, tempting both his reason and emotions, and forcing him to reconsider what morality truly means in a transient world.
The play is inspired by a real historical event in which a female artist paints Diderot’s portrait—requiring him to pose nude.
Directed by: Stoyan Radev
