Strauss Capelle Vienna – the original ensemble founded by Johann Strauss Sr. in 1843, whose musical legacy continues to be passed down through generations, is coming to Bulgaria for its first national tour. The occasion is the global celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of "The King of the Waltz" – Johann Strauss Jr. (1825–1899). The year 2025 has been declared the year of Strauss worldwide, and the "Waltz Odyssey" tour is one of the most significant highlights in the country’s cultural calendar.
Strauss Capelle Vienna is not just an orchestra performing the music of Strauss. It is a highly esteemed ensemble that has held over 3,000 concerts worldwide since 1977, cementing its excellent reputation over the past four decades. Today, under the leadership of Maestro Rainer Roos, the orchestra is recognized for its commitment to the authenticity of Viennese waltz, polka, and march. Their performances, often in the iconic historical red uniforms (commissioned by Emperor Franz Joseph I), turn every concert into an unforgettable journey back in time. They are a symbol of musical precision and excellence, preserving the rich cultural tradition of Vienna.
