Beneath the Hills arrives the exceptional Greek bassist, composer, and educator Ntinos Manos to premiere in Bulgaria his second original album, Northwind.
Widely recognized as one of the pillars of the contemporary jazz scene in Greece and a member of the acclaimed formation The Next Step Quintet, this time Manos brings together an international lineup of outstanding musicians, ready to create magic for the Plovdiv audience.
The story of Northwind began during moments of forced isolation amid the pandemic restrictions in Thessaloniki. The album carries a distinctive melancholic and deeply introspective atmosphere. It captures the feeling of solitude, but also of purification, while reflecting on modern humanity’s alienation from nature. Musically, the compositions pulse with the rhythm of contemporary world jazz, recalling the inner focus and sensitivity of artists such as Brian Blade and Kenny Garrett.
