The contemporary design scene in neighboring Romania is rapidly gathering momentum, power and international recognition. And so it is with great pleasure that we present a group exhibition of contemporary artists who create outstanding jewelry in Bucharest. They were selected by the Assamblage School of Contemporary Jewelry which offers courses, workshops and special events in jewelry design. Founded in 2010 in Bucharest, the school has quickly become a strong reference point in the field, establishing its role as a platform focused on the development of Romanian jewelry and its promotion abroad.

Assamblage comes to One Design Week 2015 with a special curatorial selection exploring the history and the future of jewelry. This journey through time, through all its cultural phenomena and art movements, was the challenge the school addressed to its graduate designers. The works you'll see in Plovdiv reveal a remarkable conceptual perspective on materials and innovative techniques applied to the craft of jewelry.
